BKE Communications Best Practices
BKE Insight is an integral part of our success at BKE. Our bookkeepers and Senior Accountants live in Insight. There is a customer-facing interface and, on the backside, our team’s workflow is managed and tracked. To ensure a successful relationship with BKE, please become familiar and comfortable with Insight. To serve you efficiently and ensure your requests are handled promptly, please use the following communication guidelines:
💬 First contact
1. Use Insight as Your First Point of Contact
- Please submit all questions and requests directly through our Insight platform using the Comms tab. Use the “Your Team” button on the top right of your Insight page to start a new communication, or click the “+” next to the Comms section.
- This ensures your communication is visible to the entire BKE team — not just one individual.
- All comms are archived and timestamped.
- Using Insight prevents delays caused by staff vacations or unavailability.
- Our team strives to respond to all Insight messages within one business day.
📅 Scheduling
2. For Longer Conversations – Schedule an Appointment thru Insight
- If your question requires more discussion, please use the “Your Team” button inside Insight to schedule a Calendly meeting.
- This ensures the right team members are available and prepared to assist you.
- Recommendation: During your first three months with BKE, we encourage scheduling a monthly call or meeting. These conversations help us get aligned, establish good communication habits, and ensure we’re on the same page from the start.
☎️ Phone calls
3. Inbound Phone Calls
- Our team is on calls with clients most of the day, so inbound phone calls are not the most effective way to reach us. But if you do need to call, please dial (757) 327-7040.
- If we’re unable to answer, please leave a detailed voicemail. We return calls only if a voicemail is left, and we strive to respond within one business day.
- You can also find each of your team members’ direct extensions under the “Your Team” button in the upper-right corner of the Insight portal.
