As another year comes to a close, the BookKeeping Express (BKE) team wanted to take a moment to reflect on our milestones from 2015. It was a big year for BKE and our clients and we’re proud of everything we accomplished together. While there were a lot of significant events, we’ve listed the major highlights from what was a monumental year.
New offices in Arlington, VA – In order to better serve our clients and manage our growing team, we moved into a beautiful new space in downtown Arlington. It’s been a great new home for us.
Expansion to San Francisco, CA – We also opened an office for our small but growing San Francisco team. Having a presence on the west coast gives us better geographic coverage and allows us to hire from a more diverse talent pool.
Greater focus on verticals – By becoming experts in specific types of business, we’re able to better serve many of our current clients and attract new ones by showcasing our knowledge of their industry.
Provided our team with even more training – We have a talented team at BKE but focusing on specific verticals meant we had to fill in the knowledge gaps. So we sent our bookkeepers to learn from the likes of Dwyer, Service Titan, Amada, Anytime Fitness and more!
Senior management added from the cloud software industry – We believe the cloud is the future of small business technology so we expanded our leadership team to include senior managers with a background in the SaaS industry.
Increased emphasis on educational content – Let’s face it, bookkeeping can be scary stuff. We’re fortunate to have very smart and experienced people on the BKE team so we’ve put more effort into sharing tips and tricks in the form of webinars, blog posts, white papers and case studies. Look out for even more educational content in 2016.
Focus on making new tools more accessible to clients – The greater access our clients have to their financial records, the better they can run their business. New tools are coming out all the time and we’re constantly on the lookout for ones we can introduce to the businesses we serve.
Put in a little extra effort – At the end of the day (and year), we’re here to help our clients be successful. There were times when our bookkeepers went above and beyond for the businesses they serve (getting that additional report out the door, or solving a hairy merchant processor reconciliation issue in the 11th hour). While there was a lot to be proud of in 2015, it’s these little things that really made the difference for BKE and our clients.
The past year was one to remember for the BKE team and we’re looking forward to taking the momentum into 2016. If you’re a current client, thank you for joining us on our journey. We wish you a happy new year and all the best in 2016.
