Grant Thornton LLP, Chicago, announced that it has admitted 26 new partners and principals to the firm. … Crowe Horwath LLP, Oak Brook, released the results of its municipal and county tax assessors’ survey, which had over 100 respondents from the 1,000 largest population centers nationwide.The survey found that even though property values have fallen in recent years across most of the U.S., a majority of business property owners aren’t appealing their assessments. The survey found that 57 percent of the respondents saw either a decline or no change in the number of property tax appeals in 2010.

TENNESSEE

International firm association Enterprise Worldwide, Nashville, and Acuity Capital have formed a strategic partnership to help CPA firms add merger and acquisition intermediary services to their practices. Firms joining the Acuity Capital Network will receive two days of intensive training in how to buy, sell and raise capital for a business, as well as support in marketing M&A intermediary services.
