The KPMG Foundation, New York, awarded a total of $400,000 in scholarships to 40 minority accounting doctoral students for the 2011-2012 academic year, including 10 new recipients and 30 students whose scholarships have been renewed. Each scholarship is valued at $10,000 and renewable annually for up to five years. The new recipients are: Herita Akamah, University of Oklahoma; Brandon Ater, Virginia Tech; Matthew Driskill, University of Florida; Brent Garza, University of Illinois Urbana; Stephanie Hairston, University of Memphis; Suzanne Perry, University of North Texas; Anywhere Sikochi, Pennsylvania State University; Andreya Marie Silva, University of Miami; Stephen Smith, University of Alabama; and Porschia Thomas Quinn, University of Memphis. …WeiserMazars LLP has signed a 12-year lease for approximately 28,000 square feet of office space at 60 Crossways Park Drive in Woodbury, which will become the firm’s new Long Island home when approximately 150 employees relocate there in December from Lake Success.
