This past October, a few BookKeeping Express (BKE) team members participated in the Pat Collins Memorial Camp Fantastic Open golf tournament. The event was hosted at 1757 Golf Club and put on by the non-profit Special Love.

Special Love is an amazing organization that supports families with children who are fighting cancer. For more than 30 years, Special Love volunteers have organized numerous events aimed at giving children with cancer normal life experiences that many healthy kids take for granted.

The Pat Collins Memorial Camp Fantastic Open was another one of their fantastic events.

About $15,000 was raised that day and will be used to fund Special Love’s hallmark program Camp Fantastic – a week-long summer camp for children with cancer. For a few days each summer, the campers get to take a step back from the seriousness of their disease and go on outdoor adventures, participate in fun activities and make new friends. Camp Fantastic has happened every summer since 1983. In that time, more than 12,000 children have attended!

We encourage you to learn more about Special Love and, if you’re able, make a donation or volunteer at one of their events. The organization puts on many fundraisers throughout the year like the Pat Collins Memorial Camp Fantastic Open. Donations are tax-deductible, so you can have a good time and support a long-standing non-profit that has made a difference in the lives of thousands of children with cancer and their loved ones.
